Prince Wants To Get Paid

Prince Fielder is going to make $670,000 this season - or $2,000 per pound.*

"I'm not happy about it at all," said Fielder, whose day didn't get any better when he was plunked twice by pitches in a Spring Training win over the Angels. "The fact I've had to be renewed two years in a row. I'm not happy about it because there's a lot of guys who have the same amount of [Major League service] time that I do who have done a lot less and are getting paid a lot more. But my time is going to come. It's going to come quick, too."

In the story, the Brewers explain how they pay pre-arbitration players based on some incentive system. For example, Ryan Braun earned a whopping $10,000-$15,000 for winning Rookie of the Year last season. Muy generous of the Brewers.

*Prince is listed at "270" on CBS Sportsline. 270 what, exactly? He is listed at 335 (pounds) at Wrigleyville23.

Thanks for the math at the bottom. I am much too lazy to find a calculator and do it on my own. You know your readers well.
