So Is He Selfish Or Not?
I thought the conventional wisdom was Alfonso Soriano was too selfish to take a rehab assignment? Guess not - even if he doesn't necessarily need one.

I am sooo sick of this whole selfish latin player bull. Sure the guy could possibly be a self assured(what pro ball player isn't?). But selfish? I don't think Fons is selfish at all. Enuff already. He is an all-star caliber player, and the Cubs are a much better team when he is in the lineup. Bottom line.

"Enough" isn't spelled with "f's," good sir.

Yes, Soriano is selfish. He wants to bat leadoff where he's had the most success and can most help the team win. Selfish. He doesn't like minor league rehabs because he doesn't really need one. Selfish. He hits leadoff home runs when the team would be better off with a rally starting single. Selfish. He doesn't steal many bases anymore so he can stay healthy. It's all about him, isn't it? Selfish. He took the job that paid him the most money like all of us would. Unlike all of us, who aren't selfish, Soriano is for taking the most money. He occasionally misplays a ball in the outfield like all outfielders do. Selfish. Most importantly, I've read he wants to shower alone. Now that's just selfish. He's also better than Ryan Theriot, which makes him super selfish.

Who cares if he is actually selfish? I don't. As long as he gets his selfish ass back in LF and helps us keep winning, he can be the king of selfish for all I care.

Exactly, IAN. Only whining little crybabies who think this is a gentleman's game care whether or not he's selfish. I don't even care if he robs liquor stores in his free time. Just go out and there and do what you're paid to do when you're healthy and I won't complain.

Little side note: while in Houston, I watched BP with my brother. We got to hang over the wall in LF there, Soriano was one of the only Cubs tossing BP balls up to kids in Cubs gear. So, he's not all that bad, fellas.
