Paul Sullivan's unscientific survey of Cubs players found some support for the idea of adding a Jumbotron (do they still call it that?) at Wrigley Field.
Support came from Aramis Ramirez ("good for the fans and good for us"), Ryan Dempster (add it to a rooftop) and Tom Gorzelanny (he likes it and "it wouldn't take away from anything").
Against? You guessed it:

Ryan Theriot was in the minority. Theriot believes a Jumbotron could change the ballpark forever, adding extraneous noise, doughnut races and a "Kiss Cam."
"If you're going to do that, you might as well change the whole park and modernize everything," Theriot said. "The way it is now is the way it's been for years, and the way it's meant to be, so you might as well leave it the way it is. I know things change and times change, but from a historical standpoint, that Wrigley vibe, that feel … a Jumbotron would change everything."
There's a reason Theriot is a favorite of those who see their Wrigley experience through some pastoral haze and believe they are going to a game to watch scrappy white guys like Moonlight Graham.
But you know what? Moonlight Graham played in 1905, and Wrigley wasn't even around yet. So you people can just hush.
As for Theriot, he just doesn't want the Cubs to be able to show TOOTBLANs on the big screen.
TOOTBLANs aside, it does improve the game-watching experience to see a replay of what just happened. Or to get fuller batting and pitching stats. Or out-of-town highlights. Or those hilarious hat races.
God forbid Cubs fans be allowed to learn more about the game - or enjoy it more. Or watch hat races.
