Ozzie Guillen doesn't seem too broken up that Joe Nathan's elbow has fallen apart:
"If Rauch is the closer I will take my chance,'' Guillen insisted before the Cactus League game against the Giants. "I was talking to [bench coach] Joey [Cora] on the way here and said, 'I will take that chance.' It's nothing against Rauch, but Nathan is so good against us ... I don't remember in the six or seven years with this ballclub that we had a good day against him except once, that's it.''
Rauch is Jon Rauch, who Guillen believes could be the Twins' closer in Nathan's absence.

But Guillen better watch what he wishes for here, as the White Sox have never scored a run against Rauch. None. Zero. Zip. That's good for a 0.00 ERA
Nathan? Not nearly as good. He's given up 11 earned runs against the White Sox. That's a lot more. Eleven more, in fact. His ERA is infinitely bigger against the Sox, too - 2.06, which is 2.06 higher than Rauch's.
Yep, this could be the worst thing to happen to the White Sox in 2010. It's science.
Update: But Phil Rogers believes the Twins won't go with Rauch:
And with Target Field opening in a month, they might be able to find the resources to trade for somebody better than any of those guys. If they do explore trades seriously, the guys they will inquire about are the Blue Jays; Jason Frasor, the Padres' Heath Bell and the Indians' Kerry Wood, in that order. The A's Brad Ziegler, supplanted by Andrew Bailey in the closer's role, is another possibility.
As science shows, this would be a horrible mistake.
